February 2014 Guidance

This month at every grade level we are learning about kindness.  Why is it important?  What does it look like?  What does it sound like?  What happens when we are consistantly kind to others?  How does that change our life?  How does that change our school?  What does being kind look like when we get angry?  What does kindness look like when someone is bugging us?  Can we still choose kindness?  What would happen if whenever we received a kindness we passed it on to 3 other people?  Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Week is Feb. 10-16, 2014.  We will see what happens that week when we go out of our way to be kind to others.  I'll be reading the story "One Smile" by Cindy McKinley.  We'll also watch a short video clip from Life Vest Inside.  Be sure and ask your children what they have learned.
