Fall is here!
Kindergarten will be studying feelings through the Second Step program.  It's a foundational step to building empathy.  This is crucial to the ability to correctly read social situations and maintain friendships.  We'll also continue learning about social thinking and how that is important for our social and educational success in life.

First grade : We'll be learning ways to stay in control when we get upset, and be able to distinguish when a problem can be solved on our own, and when we should get adult help.  At Jefferson we'll also learn 6 strategies to handle bullies,

Second grade: We will be learning about attitude and optimism.  We'll see why it is important, who it affects us and how we can maintain a positive attitude even when things are hard.  We'll watch part of  a video that demonstrates how a positive attitude gives us more power to stand up for ourselves and others and be a person we can be proud of.

Third grade will be going through The Weird Series.  These are an amazing set of books that empowers kids to be their best, stand up for others, and think deeply about ways they can make thier lives and school better.
